New Hair!

Hair is all done! In about a week or so, depending on how my hair feels, I will be making this a more ashy blonde. Yes my hair is INCREDIBLY fried, it feels awful.. like straw & my bangs are frizzy pieces of what used to be hair. Unfortunately thats what happens when you go from the red I did to this colour blonde in about 18hours. I did get my hair cut but my hair is so very dry still. I have a few keratin & oil treatments to do this week & hopefully the texture improves.

Mary-Kate Olsen Look #1

I love this look, too bad Im not blonde :( it would've suited me so much better if I was. I think red lips can easily compete with red hair but it was a fun & surprisingly simple look to create.

SNEAK PEAK!

Here's a sneak peak of my new hair. No makeup, about to go to sleep :)
Judging by the peachy colour, the process isnt quite finished yet. A bit more bleach here & some ash blonde there, then everything will be complete! Ive been asked many times by makeup artists who have worked on me or that I've worked with if Im a natural blonde because I have the colouring of one (most redheads do.. yes I am naturally red). A girl at work keeps telling me to go strawberry blonde but I personally dont find strawberry blonde attractive on anyone so I've decided to go completely blonde! My next makeup post is to blame, along with quite a few celebrities who are naturally red that pull off blonde super well. Also Kelly Osbourne & Ashlee Simpson are my celeb inspirations & they're both almost platinum at the moment. I have been blonde before but my hair was super short & I didnt give the blonde enough time to really enjoy it because I had to do my roots within 3 weeks (my hair grows fast). I dyed it black within a month. Im really excited to be blonde again, even though its alot of upkeep, especially for a natural redhead, but I really needed something different since my life has changed so much recently. I wanted to reflect that in myself as well :)

FOTD: Plumage Blues

This is just a REALLY QUICK fotd post. I wore this to work yesterday & I didnt have enough time to take a bunch of photos so I snapped this one right before I had to leave just for you guys! This look actually got me tons of compliments, which surprised me because I thought it might've been a little strong against my peaches & cream complexion. I am not a fan of wearing lipstick or lipgloss to work, mainly because my hair gets stick in it on the way there. At work I paired this look with Benefits new "Benetint Lip Balm" which is a nice cherry red colour (identical to their original "Benetint").

What I Workout In

I like working out in as little clothing as possible. I hate sweating & feeling really hot because of fabric. I also like being able to watch which muscles are working when Im using the weight machines. I prefer tank tops over tshirts & shorts over pants. Alot of the time I wear leggings that go mid calf but I've just recently been able to fit into my old short shorts from highschool so I've been sporting those instead. My shoes arent any awesome kind, they were the cheapest ones that I found. I do need to pick up a better pair, preferrably addidas or something made for athletes since my shoes slip & slide easily. The traction sucks. I dont spend a ton of money on specific athletic wear like Lulu Lemon or anything. I would love to afford their clothes but its not a requirement to workout.

I've been on a neutrals kick lately. I find them to be the most simplest looks to do & they flatter my eye colour very nicely. Neutrals also dont clash with whatever Im wearing. Today Im going to dinner with James & his friend. Dont mind the slightly bluish tone to the eye photo. It was extremely red hued so I tried to fix it but this is as good as I was able to make it.

Blog Update

I know I've been lacking on blog posts but I've been super busy lately. I had blog posts written up & saved, which is why my previous posts were much more frequent but I posted all of them & havent had time to write more. I never have any downtime to myself these days. My usual day consists of going to work 9-5 then hitting the gym from 6:30-8, making dinner, showering & then going straight to bed after a call from the boyfriend. On my days off Im usually in Toronto going to doctors appts, dentist/ortho appts or seeing old friends from there or running local errands all day. I work every friday night & then spend the wknds with James. Im such a busy bee. Anyway, the excuses stop here. Im hoping to get atleast 2 posts in this week (getting my ass out of bed in time to do a full face of makeup, lately I've just been doing my face routine & some mascara). This is supose to be a makeup/beauty blog so Im going to really start focusing on that along with some OOTD's here & there & of course weightloss updates or posts related to weightloss/health/fitness. Those seem to be fairly popular. This is my last week working such a full schedule, so soon I'll have a bit more time to focus on keeping this blog alive!

I looked like this

I've changed ALOT within the past 2 years & I find it amazing how the same person can become someone so different over time. The time this photo was taken I have to say I was going through a phase that I am not proud of. I let certain types of people influence me & my closest "friends" at the time warped my reality into focusing on things that arent actually very important. Education, success, family, careers, morals & self respect are what is important & Im ashamed to say that I focused on none of that back then. I guess when you grow up & get rid of those toxic people from your life you finally realize what actually counts in life. Im very proud of who I am now & that I had the strength to move onto a new phase, a better phase & leave those awful girls & guys behind. If you asked anyone who knew me back when I was 18 they would never believe that I would be where I am now at 20. I love that I can prove people wrong while those old "friends" are still the same.

WEIGHT LOSS BEFORE & AFTER: 14lbs

This is a before & after weight loss photo
Both photo's were taken before bed when I weigh the most
COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED FROM PHOTOSHOP

Honestly, this is total proof that if I can do it so can you. It has taken me about 4yrs in total to lose this weight. I've yo-yo dieted & lost a few then gained it all back faster than I could open a bag of chips. I havent deprived myself of anything I like (except fast food, but I did sneak in a NYF last week, eep!). I will do a post within the next few weeks on motivation & determination. You really have to be in the right mind set to lose weight & you need to know what REALLY works. I'll talk about all of that & give my personal advice & opinion on everything I have tried & come to learn. It has taken 4yrs to finally succeed. Be patient my loves.

WEIGHT LOSS UPDATE

Since my last post about 5 weeks ago I have been struggling with a plateau. I did some research on ways to get over it & start losing weight again & seeing more results. I went down to 142lbs about a week & a half later which was awesome but I then plateaued for about 2 weeks of just being 142. I kept to my routine determined to see results & I woke up this morning & stepped on the scale for the first time in about 2 weeks & the numbers I saw made me ecstatic!
I AM NOW 139LBS
I have lost weight many times before but 142 was about the lowest I had ever got (which is why it was so frustrating that I plateaued at 142 lol) & I just couldnt break out of the 140s. This time I did! :)

Just remember patience, determination & motivation where ever you can find it will be the key to your success if you're trying to lose weight. Support is also extremely important & Im very lucky to have a boyfriend who gives me that extra push I need at times & shows me how proud he is. He bought me a new pair of shoes (the sexiest wedges ever!) last weekend cuz I lost 10lbs. What a sweetie.

Total Weight Loss: 14lbs

Happy healthy eating & staying fit!

New Shoes :)

One thing about being a girl is that we LOVE shoes (well most of us!). I, however, happen to be a total shoe junkie. I own way more shoes than I know what do do with. My bookshelf is now a shoe shrine & all my flats & sandals are doubled & tripled on the bottom shelf along with my winter & rain boots sitting in the front hall closet. So today I noticed a buy one get the 2nd 50% off sale sign in R2W's window. Naturally, I went in & spent too much money! I got motorcycle inspired studded boots & sandals with chain & diamonds in them (obviously fake lol). I know the boots are out of season but I just couldnt afford them in the spring so I bought them now since I really wanted a pair back then. I never have really been one to follow the current trend so I'll be sporting these for years to come!
Both of these are from Zigi New York

These boots were in yesterdays OOTD with the sides flipped up

Here's my entire shoe collection... Ive definitely run out of room! Click the picture to enlarge it.

FOTD: CANADA DAY!

Today is Canada Day & I decided to be patriotic with my makeup! James & I are going to the beach to watch fireworks later tonight which is what inspired this look. I used red cosmetic safe glitter all over my lid to recreate the sparkle of fireworks :)

Cargo Lash Activator Mascara Review

This is a review on the Cargo Lash Activator mascara. The tube I have is a travel size.
First thing I have to say is that the wand/brush on this mascara is very unique. Its extremely rubbery & flexible. Personally I'm not a huge fan of plastic or rubber mascara wands but this one is an exception. It separates the lashes very well & my lashes love to stick together in certain area's. It also doesnt create clumping or bother the roots of my lashes either (which is why I generally dislike rubber or plastic mascara wands). There is a slight curve to the wand that makes it extremely easy to go with the curl of your lashes. The formula of the actual mascara is lovely. I noticed that when first used its a little wet (i prefer mine less watery) but after a couple uses it becomes the perfect consistency, in my opinion. As I said before the wand doesnt create clumping & the formula itself doesnt clump either. Over all I love this mascara. I would repurchase it in a heart beat & I dont think I've ever repurchased a mascara before!

Here are a few photo's of the mascara on my eye after being curled with a lash curler (I use a tweezerman curler & pulse about 5 times on each eye). I applied 2 coats of the mascara letting the first coat sit for about 1minute. I like to do my first coat then do my brows & then apply the 2nd coat.

Products used on my eyes:
MAC "groundwork" paint pot
MAC "rule" eyeshadow
MAC "blanc type" eyeshadow
NYX jumbo pencil in "black bean" (liner)
NYX jumbo pencil in "milk" (waterline)
Cargo Lash Activator mascara
MAC "corduroy" eyeshadow (brows)
